Here is a material that will bring fantastic possibilities to scrapbooking. You can cut this with a die cutter, a punch or a exacto knife, even sharp scissors! Just apply a clear packaging tape to the top and it will make this material much easier to cut. Then glue it down and peel off the tape, or you could even leave the tape. You can also color the back with paint, opalescent, or glitter glue, etc. since the sheet is transparent you can change the color by either painting the back or gluing it to different colors.Amazing colors in this Paua...lots of vibrant pink, red, blue, purple, green!
This auction is for a fantastic sheet of Paua Abalone Veneer: Look at the colors in the photo: so vibrant. This sheet has a clear coat on the top. It can be coated over with other finishes.
This is gorgeous paua. I only have a limited amount of this quality material. The color of this Paua is eyepopping. Much darker than green abalone. The flat sheet is approx 127mm x 77mm or 5 x 3 inches and is .10 mm thick about the thickness of a fingernail- this can be cut with scissors or a knife etc... about the thickness of card stock.
This is great for inlay, much cheaper than buying solid material - You can glue the veneer onto a thicker plastic backing to give the correct depth. Great for cutting intricate shapes for headstock inlays etc... The use of this material is only limited by your imagination!

TIPS
This material is can be used for overlay, where it is fixed directly onto the surface and the finishing coat is then built up to level.
It lends it self to many applications including architectural, sign writing, furniture making, musical instruments, jewelry, fishing lures and many more.
Some of the characteristics include flexibility, it can be bent to a great degree especially when coated with flexible resin or spray system such as aliphatic Polyurethane.
Shell veneers can be cut with a sharp knife or even scissors or die cutters. When cut with scissors, knife, punches or dies it is advisable to apply adhesive tape to top side which is removed when the material is fixed to surface, alternatively it can be coated with resin or spray.
Shell veneers can also be cut using various types of CNC cutting machines such as laser, water jet etc..
Very cost effective when compared with solid shell material.

This is usually used for inlay, but it is about the thickness of card stock and can be laid on top. USE YOUR IMAGINATION! Cut out fish, circles, stars, moons...I cut out fleur de leurs with a die stamp and they are perfect! It is like a stiff card stock.
